  1. Excellent post about the importance of carbohydrates in our diet! The craze to eliminate carbs has had some success because so much of our modern diets involve “simple” carbohydrates. Carbohydrates that have been processed and reduced to very simple sugars (like those found in donuts, for example) are dangerous for our health…and our waistlines. COMPLEX carbohydrates are healthiest and found naturally in nature (like brown rice and quinoa). Our bodies need those complex carbohydrates and metabolizes them differently than it does those (bad) simple carbs. Keep encouraging everyone to make good, reasonable choices!

    • Thank you so much, Natalie. I totally agree and hope to encourage others to just eat real foods and not follow the annual fads. My mantra is, “balance is key.”

    • I agree. I tell my kids all the time, balance is key. Sugar is ok as long as you are moderating how much you eat and I believe in making everything at home without mysterious ingredients. πŸ˜‰
